Why Only 3 Hero's in a Party
I bought nightfall so that I could experiance the HERO's
Why can I only have three heros in a party with me if I can have up to 8 in the party according to area. I still want to do solo with the aid of my heros I should be able to add as meny as the party allows shouldn't I. I really do like the game but find I like to try things alone first before looking to get help. I thought if I had the heros, they would be obviosly better than henchmen and thoes harder missions that the hench are two low I would be able to fill my party with heros insted. They work like henchmen that we can customize thats great but cant we have a full party of them. I bought the game looking forward to replaceing the stupid henchmen without having to get the help of others who cant listen to simple orders either. I've waisted so much time with actual lvl 20 chars that can't work as well as henchmen. I like henchmen my problem is they are not Suitable for all missions hence why we love the hero Idea.... can u make it so that the people who have the games can play solo with a full party of you and 7 hero's if area permits party size. |

Heros are infinitely more versatile (and as a result, much more powerful) than henchmen. Perhaps ANet implemented a limit on the number of heros you can have in your party at once so that the game didn't become too much of a pushover for experienced players.

Only having 3 heros is supposed to encourage grouping with real people more.
I PVP but I like to do all the PVE stuff solo, too. I feel your pain. |

I agree with the OP there, NF gives us all these awsome heroes to use, then tells us we can only use 3. For me it's usually a monk, MM, & Nuker. I would like to take my Para, or Mes, or something else but I'm stuck with only being able to use 3. as far as partying with someone else, unless they are allinace, no way, most pugs are worse then hench.

Hench aren't that bad when combined with heroes. I still remember how it was when there were no heroes at all and the entire party consisted of hench. Soloing was still possible, but it required a bit more patience and skill. Hench can still be used in all missions, if you just take the time to learn to play with them.
I'm fine with having just 3. Having the entire party made up of heroes would just be too overpowered and would make gameplay too easy soloing. A player wouldn't even need to learn as much strategy and carefulness as he'd need with hench. And I still say online gaming is supposed to have at least some social element in it, so why not force people to team up to get more heroes? I know there are lots of idiots out there, but there are good groups too. Usually you can weed out the bad ones even before leaving the outpost by watching their behaviour. |

i think it is limited to 3 perhaps because anet wants the player to at least team up with another human player, with both players using 3 heroes. a whole party of heroes would ruin gw since there would be no need to look for players to party with.

I always read this this remark about how a group of one player and 7 heroes would be overpowered. I'm always a bit amazed by that. The heroes are as good or as bad as the player are, in terms of skills. If u give them antagonizing skills u will struggle and straggle. if u give em synergizing skills then it will go like a breeze. BUT most important is that heroes have no additional benefit over humans, they can make up skillbars with 8 skills, have the same attribute points and are usually a tad less well equipable as they cant have armor sets like human players have.
The argument that 1 player and seven heroes are overpowered has to stop, they are no more overpowered then 8 players. If people think else then I can only conclude u have been in badly functioning PUGS. (NOI Perynne). I see that u are aware of the masses of idiots out there, but there can also be other reasons not to pug, playing at unregular times for example. I personally think that humans are better (or at least have the potential), except for some automated tasks, but a human ranger supporting the frost gimmick is infinitely more better then a hero ranger, unless you micromanage em. a spirit RT is always better then razah. And when u are having voicecom then changing strategy during a fight should become very easy, while retargetting heroes takes time, while u have to do your normal tasks as well (I monk). What humans can excell in compared to heroes is positioning, kiting, and adapting. |

Correct on the positioning, kiting and adapting, however heroes will destroy a player when it comes to interrupting. A well built team is indeed better than a group of heroes in most things, however the avg pug group is not.

The only reason I can see is to encourage grouping with other people, as has been said. If I could take a full team of heroes with me, even hard mode would be pretty easy. As it is, I have to rely on at least one other skilled player as well.
A full team of heroes wouldn't be overpowered though. Yes, they're better than humans at some things, like interrupting or always knowing who to cast Blood Ritual on, but they're also worse at plenty of things. A hero can't match up to a good human tank, for example, and there are some builds that their AI just can't use effectively. |

With proper builds, a one man and seven heroes team would be unstopable. I
Right now, I can do most game areas with a 6-man team made up of me, 2 SF eles, Morgahn and two monk henchies. If I could replace the henchies with heroes... nothing would stop me. Yes, the heroes fail at many builds. But if you experiment a bit, there are builds that they use better than humans can, and you don't need to give them a specific build for each different area. |

the only prob with you i see is that you dont know how to call target or command your henches...you can go through all missions and quest with hench and with heroes its alot easier.
you may not have the skills unlock but still having heroes is a plus point.do you know that you could ask ur hench to atk without you running towards the mob? |

I finished all the Phophecies missions and almost all of the bonuses with henchmen. I do know how to use them. Didn't even have NF until after I got the Protector title for Tyria.
Heroes are better. |
